Poor ol' Dale

So the Wizard Hunter is back on the block. Apparently it's last buyer didn't realize that it was a chopper and what he really wanted was a dirt bike. Anyway, if you wanna rescue this solid gold turd from the next dumb-ass who thinks they can run a 38 year old garage built chopper like it was a '09 CRF 250. Buy him here.

Dale's epic journey continues

So after less than a year of bonership, Liam has sold off the Wizard Hunter/Dale and moved into a little Milwaukee mischief. In the short time he owned this bad ass 650 he treated her to some killer styling, some mechanical lovin', and even trucked her all the way down to BF5. Couldn't have asked for a better steward for this little iron horse, but today Liam becomes a man (of constant sorrow) and begins his journey down the slippery slope of leaking american iron. congrats buddy.

Heat's off

Well if you haven't heard yet the Murder Van has been sold. Too much heat for me to handle. Between the surveillance team in the bushes and the Parents Association harassing me in line at the grocery I have had it. That brings an end to what I liked to call the Matte Black Syndicate. Dale and the Murder Van made a fine pair, but things move on. Pat and Graeme picked up the napper van for the Rights of Passage as a shop van. Gonna be hauling kegs to parties and the like now so maybe we'll see it around yet. Hope it serves you guys well.

Putting Dale Out To Greener Pastures

Well Dale has left me for another and been granted a new name, The Wizard Hunter! Now the property of this happy chap, Liam. Liam came up from Regina for the swap this weekend and snagged Dale for the special swap meet price. I'm supper sad to see my first real chopper project go, but equally stoked to see a cool cat like Liam taking him on as his main iron. Super glad you came along to fetch this trusty stead, Liam. Have fun with, 'er. Follow the continuing adventures of The Wizard Hunter by following Liam and the 501 crew where ever you can. liamliam501on the insta and at 501kult.blogspot.com .

dale's winter cave

Mule Riding Division Closed for the Season

Well that pretty much does it. Other than a few drunken escapades that are bound to emerge throughout the long Saskatchewan winter, I believe we have probably reached the end of the riding season. So what does winter look like?

With that. I declare building season to be in full production. Bought a new ceramic heater for the shed and will be putting in the storm windows today. Lets get these projects sorted!

And just a demonstration for those who think fuel injection is the only way to get a bike running in the cold. Dale was ready to ride today as always.

Thumbed mules

Got a hand getting Dale outta the snow bank and into the shop for the engine swap and clean up. Then we started swapping bars and seats and got no real work done at all.

Optimal muleage week

Today's optimal muleage...got a million and one things done this week. just some of the 20%

Frame's stripped, bondo'd (as much as it's gonna be), sanded, and ready for primer (high build as suggested).

Two wassell tanks are sanded and bondo'd and ready for primer.

This one looks like a clubbed baby seal. Hahahah yeah, I think that's funny, no I've never actually clubbed one myself...yet.

Some warmer weather allowed me to get a peak at Dale and pull the left side exhaust to harvest the other shorty pipe for the cherry bombs on pommie. Can't wait to pull Dale inside this spring and pull him apart for a cleaning and some upgrades.

Winterized...soon

Went to winterize the machines today and got a little carried away with running the stabilizer into the carbs. Took a run out to Moto Keno then Billy's. No one around so I started back home and ran outta gas. Bahah. Dale just refused to be winterized. Gonna need to run stabilizer again this weekend. Maybe get another ride in too.

note: Youtube was getting all uppity about copyright so I had to load this vid on my work account to get a good quality version on the blog. All other videos on this account are boring as shit. Don't bother.

Tight rear

I spent the last couple days rebuilding an original '70 XS1 rear wheel. Polished everything, new shoes, new rubber. Looked so good I gave it to Dale. Dropped almost 2" of height cuz of the shit 130/90 that was on there before. Got a little more fender clearance that I had before, but I love the look of period correct rubber on him.
