In the Buff
Although the term Aluminum polishing suggests a one step process the truth is it takes a few more steps. First some aircraft paint remover (never use on aircraft) to get off the old clear coat. You don't wanna sand through that. Then sand with 400 to get all the pitting out (200 if you've got stone chips, tar, etc.) then to the kitchen sink for some wet sanding with 600, 800, 1000, more.
Then back to the shop for Mothers touch aluminum polish and voila. Nice shiny cases.
2000 grit and a little more elbow grease and these suckers could be like chrome. But I'm lazy and all my other chrome is tarnished too.
Check this compared to the last post.
