Regress

Found a new tranny mount in town for the Saginaw. The Mule went back up on blocks for the one man procedure and I had'er wrappen up in about a 1/2 hour. This rubber shockmounted piece keeps the tranny backend from skooting back and forth, forward and back. When they're worn out like this...

they don't work so good. Put the new one in and WOW....no difference. The thing still shakes, jerks and jolts. I guess he's just proud to be a Mule.

Price of mount $7.23 + GsT (gotTA Love a MuLE)

Saginaw

So the Saginaw Manual Three is on the bench. It actually came out pretty damn fast. All those oily bolts loosen up pretty easy. Looks like a broken tooth is causing the thwap thwap thwap. Hopfully Dr. Daryl can find me a suitable donor gear and/or tranny and we can do the swap.

Thanks again and again and again Daryl. This one's for you...

Scheduled for Surgery

Well it looks like the Mule's going under the knife. Diagnosis from Dr. D is possible countergear bearing failure in the old Saginaw tranny. Thwap thwap thwap in first or reverse. The Original Antiquated Mule deserves a little love so I'll try and get the axle seals done at the same time and end the whamminess for good. Stay tuned...
