Elmer and Evelyn lived across my back alley. Talked to him once at a BBQ with all the neighbours. He told me stories of gravel road running around the farm back in the twenties on the Indian that he and his brother bought back then. Cool 1st hand accounts of riding in Sask before our parents were born.
Unfortunately Elmer passed away a while back and another neighbour bought his truck and decided that it should be a community truck for the whole block to use. So he passed out a set of keys to each house.
So Elmer just helped me bring my KLR into town all legal like so I can finally get it registered in my name.

random anti-radness

nothing rad to report. quite the opposite. The rad sprung a leak in my '91 honda accord. (second fave cars are early 90's jap luxury sedans. First of course is '60's Chevs, but they are always a project car. Accords not a luxury car exactly but mines an upmodel and thought it compared quite reasonably to the Legend. Turns out i don't get that great gas mileage with the old non-vtech 4, so i shoulda just bought a legend and had the v6. And burled walnut dash. Church!) I digress. My fukkin rad went. not rad. I'm afraid of working on my accord. compared to old chevs, it's a modern car. And Japanese no less, but I've already spent to much money this year on auto repair so i decided to tackle it. How hard could it be? It's just a rad. Takes 10 mins in the old chev's. K so it took me 2 1/2 hrs. to pull the thing, plus reading my haynes manual about 40 times before i started. But honestly it went good! How often do you get to say that? It really wasn't bad at all! Because of the modrenality of the beast the bolts weren't froze, the "automatic transaxle lines" at the bottom tank weren't rusted/fused together and did not strip the brass bolt and snap the fittings off the lines. Unheard of! All the hoses weren't rotted and did not require hacking several inches off to get a true fit which would have worked but now the fukkin hose is too short 'cause you have to do that everydamntime.

I had to take the rad in and they told me it needed a recrimp along the seam. I though, great! no parts, cant take that long to do, prolly it'll be cheap. 80bux. bastards. it even came home short a mounting bushing. I guess that was my fault for leaving it on there. I hadta run to the garage at the end of the block 'cause i felt they owed me something buy now to try and get another one b/c i couldn't even start the install without the stoopid fukkin bushing. turned one up in a pile of shit on the ground in the back. lukky fukkin day! it's out of a cavalier, but a little farmer fix and it became close enough to the same size I could start. managed to "git'er done" b4 the mrs. came home. plus, a couple bulbs replaced and my Maxim on the street and ready to go. swish! nothin but net. I know a post is always better with picks, but really they would have just been boring. a rad, two cooling fans, and a big piece of plasic shit. completely unremarkable. in fact the only remarkable thing was that i managed to pirate the thing to tortuga. all by me onesies.

Set the controls forwarder on my bike (they're a little adjustable for leg length). I put them all the way forward b/c it just seemed to be the right thing to do. After way to much dikkin around with it i finally got it all adjusted and set up so nothing was binding. Seemed odd though. As i rolled it onto the street today I realised why. In order to fit and function in the position I have it set I flipped some linkage stuff upside down. Now its one up and four down, like the old man's 16-h! Harararararar!

So after shooting some pics and video of Hambone's Weeping Dagger this afternoon I decided I was out of excuses and it was time to run Dale. And holy shit he ran. Like a top. Now I'm having some issue with the electric starter, but real men kick anyway. Only one or two nit picky stoopid things to sort out before it's maiden voyage. Maybe tomorrow. Sorry Hambone, didn't get to your graphics work tonight. Dale took precedent.
