80/20 rule
Have you ever heard of that old 80/20 rule that says it takes 20% of the time to complete 80% of a project and 80% of the time to complete the other 20%? Well that's where I'm at. So close yet so far away. It feels like I've accomplished nothing in the past month, but I know I've been cutting and figuring like crazy. Anyway. Here's a buncha photos that look the same as the last bunch. Got the new wheel mounted (waiting for go kart wheel spacers from England, still need to sort out the brake)

Power Plowing with the Mule
I don't know about you guys, but the one thing I love about a good blizzard is the rally car driving opportunities that all that fresh white stuff brings. Now put yourself behind the wheel of a one tonne rear wheel spinnin monster like the Mule and things get stoopid. Heh heh weeeeiiii.
Now get out there and get those bisquicks air born.

No this is not about repairing a Carb
This is about what I was up too on Sunday. And if your not stoked to try it then you need to see a doctor cause there is something wrong with you! The season doesn't have to end when the snow falls, it actually is just getting started! Here is my buddy Michael taking the first few laps on a pond near Osler.
With 2" studs 1 1/2 in the tire you get way more traction on ice than you ever could on pavment. Michael was good enough to take me out with him and let me ride his 125 yamaha 2-stroke.It is a sweet ride on the ice even though it takes some getting used to the 2-stroke I was laying it over pretty good after a few laps on the uber twisty track they have plowed off the pond. I've always riden 4-strokes so it's totally different type of riding... oh yea and it's on ice too ha. I was getting faster with every lap. then Michael brought his camera out so I started pushing my limits to try for some good pics. I found my limits but didn't break anything thank god cause I can't afford a new bike, been there before. Michael and his buddy had a race and he found his limits too.
I just happened to be in the right place to get a sweet sequence of his spill. He didn't break anything either, gotta love dirt bikes!! I've finally found my twisty roads in Saskatchewan. Anyone got $800 I could use to get some studded tires for my KLR? I'll let you ride it too! This pic shows that I am starting to lay it over pretty good.
But not even close to this guy. He is really fast and past me about ten times, don't matter though cause it is so much fun.
He can really lean it over!
Black Sparrow Archives
Found some pics in the archives of the Black Sparrow just after I'd bought her. FONZIE!!
Billy suggested I might get that big dent outta the top of the tank with a little plunger power. Now I think he just wanted the opportunity to get this picture. Look at that Eddie Vedder hair!
How many nights was this the norm. I spent more time jerry rigging that thing 'til 2am just so I could ride to work in the morning. Musta' put a few thousand city miles on that thing from July to December when I finally pulled the top end apart. I miss you little 360.

In the Buff
Although the term Aluminum polishing suggests a one step process the truth is it takes a few more steps. First some aircraft paint remover (never use on aircraft) to get off the old clear coat. You don't wanna sand through that. Then sand with 400 to get all the pitting out (200 if you've got stone chips, tar, etc.) then to the kitchen sink for some wet sanding with 600, 800, 1000, more. Then back to the shop for Mothers touch aluminum polish and voila. Nice shiny cases.
2000 grit and a little more elbow grease and these suckers could be like chrome. But I'm lazy and all my other chrome is tarnished too.
Check this compared to the last post.

bits fer 650
Still working out more mounting tabs for the 650 as well as some other gak. I cut 6 inches off the drag bars last night and I think I might have the right look there now.
Also on further deliberation I thing the smaller sissy bar might be better. I'll likely finish both of them just to be sure. Also Hambone stopped by the other night with a fantastic lookin' and functional battery box that will double as a fender mount.
