SMILE!!!
This is me. In the Spring. On my new chopper. It makes me really really happy...Okay it's not me, but I know exactly how he's feelin'. After work today I dug the Honda out of the snow and started it. Then I went to the shed and got Pommie started too. Which has been giving me some trouble lately. AaahhhhhAaa! Spring time!!!! is all it took to get things running.

NICE! MC in translation
I know I've sang the praises of Nice!MC before here on the Mule. What I didn't mention was the mechanical hell yeah that is Nice!MC. I really wish, at times like these, that my Japanese extended beyond Styx. Here's hopin' everybody connected to the Nice!MC folks are doin' well in this time of crisis.

Flake fail
So the story goes this way. Sprayed a black base coat let it dry then sanded lightly for the the coats to come. Mixed my clear up and added the silver and gold flake. Strayed the first and second coat. Looking sweet! The notice something.... f@€k the base coat is starting to bubble. Well I still have a whole sprayer of clear and flake. whatever finish spraying. So guess what I am doing tomorrow fixing it. Sanding sanding sanding new base with different brand of paint then reflake. Wast of time and money. Fun times.

Donor mule
Skipped out early today to run down to Amigos for a clutch pedal push rod for the original Mule after snapping the old one on a particularly cold day this winter. I welded the old rod back together, but haven't been able to get rid of a weird spongyness ever since. I was hoping the donor I pulled the tranny from last summer would still have the push rod. Sure enough it was still hangin there, but after installing it in my '63 I've still got a strange resistance when pushin the clutch in. A disturbing realization that the problem may reside in the brackets within the Mule. Grrr. The hunt continues.

Score!
Went looking for a cheap avON SPEEDmaster on the EGay yesterday and ended up with this...
Complete 21 setup, wheel, tire, drum, star hub, and axle that came off a 78 superglide running a 1970 FL front end on it. All for what I would have paid for the used rubber... I love a good hustle.
