The Red Rooster

Brian finished up the Red Rooster recently so we loaded it up and took him out for a winter shakedown. Photo's to come. Oh yeah and if you like what you see, the Rooster will be for sale very soon, so start putting your money aside for this touch as hell cone zone shovel. Billy, I'm thinking you ought to buy this for the Mrs. She'll hate it and then you can ride it instead.

Shot a little lasting love for Brian's PanShovel build today. This exquisite machine is moving over to make room for a wet dream of a knuckle, but we figured it deserved a good showing before Brian makes some changes for the new owner. More to come.

50's Wayz

Robin from 50's Haze sent one of the sickest Pans around back to Arizona for a make over. He and our boy Brian will be heading to the greatest show on earth in a few days and I'm beside myself with jealousy. The wizard behind Robin's bike is the ever talented Jeremiah of Love Cycles. Amazing stuff. I guess I don't have to say it, but Robin, have a fucking blast down south man.

 

Brian's Pan/Shov got some lipstick for the show too care of Csik and Decay at Kontrast Studios. The purple and gold skinny jean flames really finish off this regal beast. Brian's bike is so shit hot I'm pretty sure Frank Zappa wrote a song about it called Hot Poop.

Chopper shakin'

Well things have been moving right along at a snails pace as usual, but making miles inch by inch non the less.


Got a look inside the bottom end of the shovel due to a leaky cam cover gasket that I figured needed fixing before I tried running full fluids. Things looked good there.


That creepy guy in my air cleaner is back, but I got the backing plate modified to fit the s&s Super E and it looks pretty Boss.


Got my sissy tower back from Brian, all shining like a national guitar. Lovin' it.

And Hambone's got his chop dropped off for wiring. This is the first picture that really shows the stance of this bad ass machine and shit if it isn't the coolest thing runnin (even though it's not yet).

Brian's gone full circle on his Panshovel. At one point this build season Loco got itchy and pulled the whole thing apart, but it looks like he's seen the light and its goin back to the whole lotta hell yeah that it is. Looking forward to running my shovel next to this this summer.

Buttoned Up

All buttoned up and ready for a million miles thanks to Brian. Got a new clutch rod assembly and kicker shaft which completes the incomplete "completely rebuilt" claim upon purchase.
Thanks for the help Buddy.

Also got the 21 all shiny, wrapped in rubber, bearings repacked and sealed, balanced and trued. Things are starting to take shape.

Spotted a local 50's Hazer in the crowd at BF3 waiting to win his Knuck. Pulled the pic from lostdogsmc. If you're not sick of seeing the Born Free III show picks yet, they've got a couple great sets to peruse.

Doc Jessop

Me and the cone shovel took the Mule over to Brian's last night for an insiders look, measurement and inspection. After venturing cold instruments into dark places, Doc Jessop gave the mill a clean bill of health. Looks like we're working with mid-life jugs (030) with aftermarket pistons, standard four and a quarter 80" stroke with no scoring or damage to speak of. Gonna get quick de-glazing over there and then we're in business.

I also got the chance to take Brian's Pan-Shovel for a little belt around the block just to light a fire under my ass. Shit! that thing rides like a dream. Hopefully I'll get the 4 speed and primary worked out soon and I can try to fire up the project just to keep my spirit warm through the winter. Thanks again, brother, for the complete physical and the born free goody bag.

Shiny Unicorn amidst my Mules

Came home tonight to find a familiar bike nestled amidst the pile of mules. Brian busted a clutch cable near my place last night and rode through a few stop signs to find a safe place to stash his pan/shovel.

Scored a sweet care package from Brian. Lotsa goodies. Van Halen 5150 tape, 80's biker chicks photographed with a soft filter, a ratchet strap with no hooks and a pilsner just to name a few. thanks buddy.

Bastard!

Finally got over to Jessop's shop to see what he's doing to a perfectly good Pan-Shovel. Dear Lord, I think he's killing it. Loco Bastardo's got a great building space sectioned off with winter heat and a cold mini-fridge. Am I turning green yet?


Brian's got his '53 coming along nicely. There's been a few engine component incompatibilities discovered, but it sounds like Brian's got it all under control. This shit's gonna be insane. Can't wait to see it all done up.


And what's up next for this lucky Bastard? A Big Bore, tricked out, 400f with a great story. What a barn find!
