Yeah, beauty engine, pain in the ass to keep running I'll bet! Those Triumphs though... SWEET!
ReplyDeleteAn engine question for you Yammy's out there. I know the XS650 is a big deal for the customs, but what about the XS750 triple? Don't hear much about that one. I ask cause a friend is selling one. Details to follow...
Those trumps have been for sale for the last 3 years. He's still asking too much.
ReplyDeleteTx750 triples are not exactly collectors, but a decent engine if you get one post '75ish. Not sure how many parts you'd find nowadays. I know some stuff(wheels etc) are interchangable with 650's.
I've never heard anything good about the xs750, but i've never had any personal experience with them. From what I understand they are tricky, finicky and a headache. Some internet typer guy i read once said you get all the vibration of the twin with none of the power or reliability of a four. The people who like them like them because they find a triple a really cool concept, not because the motorcycle itself is really great. I have a really strong feeling about the '79-'81 pontiac firebird. Because they're cool as fukk! Not because they're anything really great as a car. I hate the old camaros though. Why? they're practically identical. Automotive enthusiasts are eccentric bunch, and we all have our pet preferences. Which I thing is the only reason why any one would buy a triple that wasn't a trump. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteI'd buy a triple 2 stroke Kawa. Cuz they're fuckin badass and fast as fuck.
ReplyDeleteHere's an XS750 article from 79
