Wakaw Weekend

Keno brought the Comet Traveler out for the weekend. Super happy I got to take a pleasure cruise before the ice sets in. Even if we did spend most of it hung up on the rocks.

And on the way home I stopped off in PA to pick up this for the wife. It's the same year and model as my first motorcycle the Black Sparrow. Stoked, but kinda overwhelmed with the amount of winter projects now on the go.

Shell Lake Bombers

Me and the boys headed up to the lake this weekend for some dirt busting. Elliott was rocking the PW hard doing epic long skids, standing up on the pegs and even popping a few wheelies. Hope we get another one in before the white stuff flies.

EPPic weekend in the dirt

Got a chance to pass on the fever this weekend to the family. Had an absolute blast ripping the fields at the lake with my Love and my big Guy. Love these peeps. Soo fun.

Dirt Hunter

Went on a hunt for some urban dirt last night. Found a good little patch of muck in a spare lot in the New North Industrial area. But that little adventure has inspired me to find amazing urban dirt locations for fun flinging of frack. Stay tuned for the misadventures and possible trespassing fines to come.

Weekended

Here's a few from the weekend. Opened up the carb on Carole's CT1 The Lil Desert Rose and found this. Uhhh...wow. Cleaned it up and took the worst of it over to Dirk who put it through his Ultrasonic cleany thingy and putter all back together. Starts first kick now. Boom ring ding.

Actually had some good luck with bikes this weekend. Currently all three of my steeds are running at optimal muleage. The XT needs the rear brake cleaned and a petcock rebuild, the headlights keep blowing and the signals dont work quite right, but she's running strong. The CT1 needs a tune up and about a million little things (poor neglected nelly), and the shovel is well timed now and the clutch seems to be pretty well sorted, but I've still got an intake leak that's driving me insane. pop pop fart fart.

Regardless of the bappity bap bap I got the shovel out a couple times and even went on a little trek with Cole last night. Oh and the OG antiquated mule got a primo parking spot on the drive way because it's plates have expired and I'm too broke fixing bikes to renew. hahah

XTra dirty

I think I'm really getting the hang of this XT. Took it out to the snow dump yesterday to see what the mud situation was like...it's muddy. Heavy thick clay based-get your boots stuck-don't drop your bike because its sinks like quicksand- kinda muddy.

Taking spring by force III

Cyclemania sucked. Fun Motor Group bought up all the dealerships and then got all Bible Belt about it being an HA event and didn't show up. Sooo it was dead.
So I totally came home and rode my XT around town all day. Through alleys and up Spadina had a blast.

Went over Kenny's and helped him dig out a bike (I mostly just drank beer) and then we pulled his boat out. Because we here in Saskatchewan consider this to be right on the cusp of boating season.

Take spring by force II

Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough and take spring any way you can.

Beast Breathes

The beast was awoken tonight. Well I got it started last night but the spark was inconsistent. Some investigation revealed a shitty coil mount with a shit weld and hanging on by a thread. The plug wire was kinda shit too, so I cut the mount off the other frame and welded it to this frame, stole the coil from the parts bike too and swapped out the plug cap for a new lower resistance one. Also put new fule lines and filter in and topped up the oil and fresh gas. And....+BOOM+ After market exhaust sounds great. Liam (bought my XS650 and is an XT owner as well) says it sounds like Hulk Hogan taking a shit.

The Beast of Burden

Took ownership of the Beast of Burden yesterday. She's a 1979 XT500. Super stoked as I've been wanting one of these classics for a while. Another of Yamaha's bullet proof 4 strokes the XT/SR engines are 500cc's of pure gold. This purchase came with a parts bike (very incomplete) and a spare motor which looks like it will be an easy rebuild. Pretty stoked to get this puppy up and running around the Saskatoon streets and out in the dirt as well.
