EPPic weekend in the dirt

Got a chance to pass on the fever this weekend to the family. Had an absolute blast ripping the fields at the lake with my Love and my big Guy. Love these peeps. Soo fun.

Weekended

Here's a few from the weekend. Opened up the carb on Carole's CT1 The Lil Desert Rose and found this. Uhhh...wow. Cleaned it up and took the worst of it over to Dirk who put it through his Ultrasonic cleany thingy and putter all back together. Starts first kick now. Boom ring ding.

Actually had some good luck with bikes this weekend. Currently all three of my steeds are running at optimal muleage. The XT needs the rear brake cleaned and a petcock rebuild, the headlights keep blowing and the signals dont work quite right, but she's running strong. The CT1 needs a tune up and about a million little things (poor neglected nelly), and the shovel is well timed now and the clutch seems to be pretty well sorted, but I've still got an intake leak that's driving me insane. pop pop fart fart.

Regardless of the bappity bap bap I got the shovel out a couple times and even went on a little trek with Cole last night. Oh and the OG antiquated mule got a primo parking spot on the drive way because it's plates have expired and I'm too broke fixing bikes to renew. hahah

brunch

Me and cousin Ollie wowed the crowds pullin wheelies and doing mud slides in the alley behind the Tiny Garage on Sunday. The spectacle was witnessed by awe struck on-lookers both young and old.

Last Summer's 'Lil Desert Rose

Missed seeing this little bike.

Lineup's continued

Line'n up my summer fun today too.

His and hers dirt mules. Both fired and smokin'. Love 2-strokes. Now primed with opTimal Muleage. DT got new rubber front and back donated by the Kawa 125 I sacrifice over winter.

Pulled the styro out of the shed window today and let POMmie drink in a little Vitamin D.

TGRS Updates

Alright. It's been a few days w/o a post so here's what's been happening at the Tiny Garage Rod Shop. I got too many projects on the go to say the least and this only touches on a handful.

First, I got the Front end back together on the 'Lil Desert Rose, but not before I noticed the bent tubes and axle. Anyone got a hydraulic press I can use to straighten these? Axle's already on it's way C/O eGay. $9.00

I put together a bit of a welding table in the Shed. Need to get to Inland for some metal shopping this week.

Took 1/16" off each side of this original mount for the floorboards on Dale. Making some brackets to be welded to the frame for mounting a far superior system for floor boards which will raise them up another 1 1/2" as well. Should keep them from being over sharpened by pavement.

And Carole, my lovely wife, has come speeding back to us after a month away in the Hat! Not a moment later she was speeding away from us again and taking her very first cruise on a bike, ever. The 'Lil Desert Rose was a perfect fit and her red sparkle helmet was a perfect match. Next year...Sturgus!

Fork seals for the CT1

Any advice for popping out 40 year old oil seals? Cuz these are REALly in tHeRE!

Old Parts Score:

Rec Supply -20

Proline 0

eGay 1,567 (might soon deserve it's B back)

"Carefully pry out oil seal, using folded rag to protect outer tube." Sounds simple, eh?

Desert Rose Alley Donut

C'mon dude, don't leave me hangin......
I'm lookin' like a douche here!

Update:
Well the challenge of an alley donut was too much for these Ninjas to resist. Let me first say despite appearances, the alley behind the Tiny Garage Rod Shop is in fact NOT really wide enough for a donut. At least not without tearing up the neighbors grass patch he's planted. Sorry Larry. Unfortunately the old adage is true and although I thought I'd shined my latest turd to a chromey luster, the physical toll of a donut was too much for the 'Lil Desert Rose. Although it started off with promise, a broken front brake cable limits the alley donut to being performed by those with skills greater than mine. This is merely a postponement. Enjoy.

No batteries required

So the CT1, I've discovered, has what'cha call a flywheel magneto. Long & short of it...no battery, no rectifier, still make ring ding. I ran the theory past Gary whom I bought the bike from and he assured me he had the bike running as it sits today. No battery, no rectifier. So long as you don't want to run a bunch of accessories this setup should work fine because of that magnetic personality...sooo why won't it start?

Got inspired...

...by the vintage enduros, Kenos teaser pics, and Du Keeps success with his little Honda. So I bought this today. Gonna need a little work and the Wife has already claimed it.
