Cypress Run

Road trippin with the family. After a storm warning forced our Flin Flon trip to be reconsidered the night before we left we decided to head for the only patch of sunshine on the radar map. Cypress Hills ended up being the destination and it worked out just fine. Great trip. Super weather, just enough breakdowns to make it interesting, but nothing we couldn't fix on the road. Dad jumped on the White Lightning and joined in this year too, which was awesome. After 45 years of not riding a motorcycle. Great to have him along. The Shovelhead shoveled right along with no issues and completed the 1200 kms without complaining a bit. Had to repair a rear brake line at one point but that's the only issue it gave me. Sweet.

Got a chance to pass on the fever this weekend to the family. Had an absolute blast ripping the fields at the lake with my Love and my big Guy. Love these peeps. Soo fun.

21 winks

21 weeks ago I got an opportunity to take a leave from the daily grind in preparation for the coming of our second child. For nearly five months I've had the luxury to wake up every morning and do nothing, but engage with my family (and occasionally, fuck around with choppers ;). Anyone out there who's got little people at home knows, it can't be matched. Tomorrow I'm back at work and am obviously bracing for the transition. Looking forward to getting back at the organized chaos called work, but also feeling like 21 weeks can go by in a wink. Take time for the peeps that you call home. Not even motorcycles mean shit next to them.

Cold ass mother

Saw this ad on Kijiji. Dude in Duck Lake is looking to trade his pitbull, an xbox with a dozen games, and a guitar for a bike. Fuck man, that's cold.

Waskesiu 2009

Overnighter to Waskesiu with the boys. We had Ninjas, Keno, Sastard, Sastard's Dad Sastard Sr., and Stu.
Took a few Lomo Quad cams, but not so many worked out. Shooting while riding skills need improving.

Had to pull over and let the Fish Police get ahead of us once we hit the park so that we could lean into some of the windy woodsy roads.



So there must be something about my bikes and Waskesiu. Both trips hacve resulted in my bike breaking down. This time it was the VT750.


Nothing too serious, but the bolt must have fallen out of the drum linkage so when I stepped on the rear brakes the link arm was the only thing holding back the force. Caused the drum to spin around and bend the shit out of the arm (see below) and actually snap the linkage rod.



Used the broken piece of the linkage rod to bolt the arm back onto the drum once it was spun back around. A little Duct tape for insurance and we're on our way again, but with no more rear binders.
