Cagiva Elefant

I know, a big, ugly bike (though a solid Dakar contender in the late 80's), but perhaps the inspiration behind backwards engine blocks. A 90 degree L-Twin whose rear carb was in the way of the mono shock rear suspension. So they spun the rear cylinder around putting the carb between the heads. So when this butterfly flapped its wings in Italy, did it create the beautiful backwards triumph hurricane in England? Perhaps we'll never know. A pretty "out there" idea to come up with on your own.

  1. I think your fascination with backward facing blocks is a disease. I fear the only cure is for you to purchase a twin engine (it can be a honda if you like, I know you only buy hondas) and flip that bitch.
